One Yes can change the World

Yes, today like all of you, I woke up not in a good mood. Then I prayed and realized one Yes can change the world. This Thursday is the Feast of The Annunciation of the Lord. Our Blessed Mother was so confident in her decision. Mary's one Yes changed the World. The savior walked among us and saved us. His one Yes to suffer for our sins, saved us. These were selfless act of Love for God, but their one Yes changed the World. I realized that we will all meant to be with our Loving and merciful God and that is what matters. No matter what happens, God brings good out of bad, because Jesus and Mary's one Yes changed the world.

I thought of you today...

I thought of You Today.
I thought of you today....when someone gave you “that look” because your child had behaved in a way they thought disobedient.
I thought of you today...when you realized your circle of friends had grown smaller because yet another person had misunderstood your child.
I thought of you today...when your child responded too strongly, and another child was hurt.
I thought of you today...when this child talked and talked and talked so constantly that your brain became numb.
I thought of you today...when your anger level went too high and you said something you wish now that you hadn’t.
I thought of you today when you saw someone else completely miss the delight in your child, because your child presented it in a manner that was unfamiliar to them.
I thought of you today when you apologized to your child and he wrapped his arms around you in a gracious embrace that you know conveyed total and utter forgiveness.
I thought of you today...because I know you and I are sharing some of the same journeys.

God Encouragement for the day

Whatever I shall have to do or suffer in this miserable life, I intend that it be proof of love for my God, so that living, I shall live only to love, and dying, I may die in order to love still more.

- Saint Joseph Catasso (1811- 1860), Priest

Making Music Praying Twice--Lent

This program is awesome. The songs and lyrics are so musical, with the different instruments they use also. The way they lay out the whole program, the structure, the intesity, the involvement with each student. This could be used through 5th grade. I am currently using it with my 5th grader, who really likes this program. It will be too babyish beyond that. We don't use all the songs, but the ones we use are so good. A ccd program should pick this up. As a homeschooling mom, I could see this idea for a co-op setting also. I give this an A++. Yes it is that good in my opinion.

Love never Fails

Homeschool Moms

Apologia's article

What Dr. Wile said about AP article, which is really just against homeschooling in general. SO sad really but for every cross we carry closer to Jesus we will be.

Real Mothers

REAL MOTHERS

Real Mothers don’t eat quiche;
They don’t have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn’t come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don’t want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up…….

Real Mothers sometimes ask ‘Why me?’
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, ‘Because I love you best.’

Real Mothers know that a child’s growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade…
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother…..

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE – My Mommy can do anything!

8 YEARS OF AGE – My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 YEARS OF AGE – My Mother doesn’t know everything!

14 YEARS OF AGE – My Mother? She wouldn’t’ have a clue.

16 YEARS OF AGE – Mother? She’s so five minutes ago.

18 YEARS OF AGE – That old woman? She’s way out of date!

25 YEARS OF AGE – Well, she might know a little bit about it!

35 YEARS OF AGE – Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion.

45 YEARS OF AGE – Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 YEARS OF AGE – Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a Mother is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she
carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a Mother must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a Mother is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a Mother with years only grows!

Getting ready for Next Year

The spring weather, the conference schedule all has gotten me in the mood to research curriculum for next year. As we finish books this year, I will be posting reviews. I already posted one on Faith and Life Religion series and A child's Geography, alot more to be coming.

A God encouragement of the Day today

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Homeschooling Encouragement of the Day

Why I decided to Homeschool

Encouragement for the Day

To attain holiness, then, we must not only pattern our lives on Christ's by being gentle, humble and patient, we must also imitate him in his death. We imitate Christ's death by being buried with him in baptism.

Faith and Life Religion Series

This year we did Grade 5 for (ds) and Grade 7 (dd). I learn much in teaching them Religion. They will be more educated than I was because of the Faith and Life series. It explains scripture and has you read scripture throughout the teaching of it. I would recommend this series for anyone who is teaching their children catechism at home. The activities they have linked with the videos they recommend is an awesome way to teach religion. Grade 7 is the preparation for Confirmation through explaining how to live a life of Grace along with the actual confirmation book. Grade 5 is The explanation of the Creed in detail and how the Creed affects our moral life.

Governor and Voting

I rarely put up political posts but today I will.  Today my son voted for the first time in our NJ primary for governor.  It has saddened me...
