Catholic homeschooler takes lead in Facebook competition

A Catholic homeschooled teen is taking the lead in the first ever Facebook Idol Competition. Not to be confused with American Idol, Facebook Idol is a competition for songwriters that perform their original material. Jean Mallia, a junior, from Flemington, NJ, won Round One with her song, "See If I Care," a song that she wrote at age 15. Round Two begins May 1 and runs until May 31. Jean needed to submit two additional original works in order to continue in the contest. This isn't difficult since she has written over 100 songs.

Jean was born into a musical family. She cantored at Mass by age 10. Now she plays piano, guitar and bass guitar. Catholic Homeschooling gives Jean a solid Catholic education while allowing the flexiblilty needed to pursue a career in the music industry.

Governor and Voting

I rarely put up political posts but today I will.  Today my son voted for the first time in our NJ primary for governor.  It has saddened me...
