Clarity, writing , and hope
For a long time I never wanted to accept writing, because I always picked the safe road for my family. Teaching was not the road that God wanted me to choose, or maybe I was not spiritual ready for what he would ask me to do. I am not so sure I am ready but I am writing. Yes I am writing a book, and freelancing articles on the side. I realized surrendering it all doesn't mean just some parts of my life. It means all. I finally surrendered it all. This past weekend His Grace showed me amazing things that I never thought I could have enough courage to do, but I am. It is such a part of me I never realized I was missing something. I got an email from a person today, who said she loves my name. She said it is her daughter's middle name because it reminds her of hope. It blew me away. I never thought of myself as hope-filled, but maybe that is what God has been trying to tell me all along. He just used another angel to explain it to me.
Thank you God for the gifts you have given to me. God Bless you all.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians
After reading the last book, my reaction was WOW! We started this series because we are doing a unit study on Greece. Being a writer myself, this book series was awesome. It is written as Percy is telling the story throughout all five books. The descriptions of Percy's world and his reactions to the world were detailed. Rick Riordan has the world he created highly detailed down to the smallest blade that Annabeth uses. He thoroughly researched before writing these books. Through reading these books, your children will get a great lesson in Greek Mythology. It is an action pack series of books from the Lightning Thief to The Last Olympian. There are five books in this series: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian. We were drawn to this series because of the fact that Percy has dyslexia and ADHD, and how the author uses his disability as his greatest ability is truly impressive. All those special needs parents need to get these books for their kids, I highly recommend this series. Everyone of all ages will enjoy this, especially those History geeks like me.

Review: The Journey Of Faith
I took a long time to read this book, because I wanted to savor everything Fr. Groeschel wrote. I highly respect him as a theologian and priest. This book is a journey to deepen your faith in Christ. This book teaches a lay person such as myself how to have Expectant Faith. He explains how we need faith, hope and love for salvation and the road to The Kingdom of God. As he goes through examples that we can relate too, it deepens your faith through the journey in this book. One thing that astonished me in this book is that, " 94% of people today believe there is a God who knows they exist and who personally cares about their existence". The Media in this country does not portray this statement, which is why I was shocked. Fr. Groeschel went on to talk about the Faith we need to have in our Church, the church that Christ created. Jesus established this church for us, a means for us to be saved. He has a whole chapter explaining practical ways to grow in our faith. He explains only through grace and the act of faith will we be able to sustained our faith. Finally, throughout this book he explains that prayer is the most essential part of our journey with God, that will guide us to have that Expectant Faith in Him. This is the most positive book about our Faith Journey with Christ that I ever read. I would highly recommend this book because it is a great book, not just because I highly respect the priest who wrote it.

Abiding Faith
I believe constant prayer does get you through it all. My deep faith has always gotten me through the toughest times in my life. This walk is no different than the rest, but with each cross comes new ardent challenges that sometimes are hard to conquer. That is the time I re-read the footprints poem in my head--God is carrying me through this time. Recently I was driving home from church and heard this song, called I am waiting by John Waller. God knows when we need to hear the messages we need to hear, that is what an awesome and Amazing God we have. Abiding Faith is a journey of having waiting faith, in God's time, in God's will/ God Bless you all!

End of the year
The kids have been homeschooled for 4 years now and have excelled through their learning difficulties. We are going into year 5 in the fall. Chloe is going into the 8th grade and Luke into the 6th grade. They are both growing up so fast. I remember the days I brought them home from the hospital like yesterday.
God has even helped me start a new career, though scary, trusting in Him is essential to allow Him to work through me. So my writing career has begun again after not writing for over 15 years. Alot has changed from the writing world I left those many years ago. So as I start this new chapter in my life, I wish you all a great summer. I will still be blogging and writing during the summer and tomorrow I will be posting my last review of curricula we used this year for the summer. I will be writing about the places we visit and see. We will be on the road this summer. We will be visiting my parents at sometime during the summer, and I will post pictures along with my blogging entries. I wish you all a Blessed Summer to start the fall refreshed and full of energy.
Praising Him Joyfully,
Noelle:)

Review: Meet the composers 2 Kit
This is a really great way to get Music appreciation in for us. Each composer has an activity sheet, their biography with their renowned compositions, and you listen to their most famous piece on a CD. I recommend this any family that wants to learn more about each composer in different periods of music. Personally, my children loved this program.

Review: Latina Christiana 1
I absolutely love this Latin Program. This program is from Memoria Press. The repetition, explanation and the way it is laid out reinforces concepts taught. Every 5 chapters there is a review. The pronunciation CD helps the learner excel in the many prayers, hymns, and verb tenses that are taught throughout the book. My children have learned so much through this program. I would recommend this even for a learning disabled child.

Review of U Got 2 Love by Fr. Stan Fortuna, C.F.R.
U Got 2 Love took me by surprise pleasantly. Fr. Stan Fortuna uses everyday language. I was afraid it would be a book over my head in theological language, but it was not. I was surprisingly impressed with this book. He explains what real love is, not the love they show in movies today. He explains how God is true love at its best. He describes it as a "peaceful sea of blazin charity". He links love with obedience and responsibility, how we should cherish it. Love is a free choice that God has given us. The Chapter on Crucified Love was a poignant part of this book for me. Fr. Stan Fortuna explains how we need to embrace the Cross that leads us to God's love and conversion in our lives, which is our acceptance and dependence on God. This is a book about empowering love and realizing they we need love before we can love others. This is an awesome book for young adults as well as adults!

A Son's love for His Mother
BEING A MOTHER
After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, 'I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you.'
The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my two children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.
That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked?
My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news.
'I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you,' I responded. 'Just the two of us.' She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much.'
That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date.
She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.
She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. 'I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they were impressed,' she said as she got into the car. 'They can't wait to hear about our meeting.'
We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady.
After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips. 'It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small,' she said.
'Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor,' I responded.
During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation, nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life We talked so much that we missed the movie.
As we arrived at her house later, she said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.' I agreed.
'How was your dinner date?' asked my wife when I got home.
'Very nice. Much more so than I could have imagined,' I answered.
A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her.
Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place mother and I had dined. An attached note said: 'I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son.'
At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I LOVE YOU' and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve. Nothing in life is more important than your family. Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till 'some other time'.

When you thought I wasn't Looking
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up..
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking'
Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, friend)
influences the life of a child.
How will you touch the life of someone today?
.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God. Even when he doesnt seem to fix all things,
consider he may be trying to perfect what could be more solid virtue in us by giving us chances to do what only hardship can do: wield perfection as much as possible here on earth.

What would Mary do?
I so agree with Sarah Reinhard's article on this week's newsweek, but I would like to add in my two cents. For those of you know me, I can never keep my mouth quiet(something I am working on). Sometimes I wonder if this is in God's best interests. Father Michael reminded me this through his sermon yesterday on Divine Mercy Sunday. That we as Christians need to stop keeping silent and evangelize among nations. We need to be God's Christian soldiers doing His Will. This was God's Divine plan for his people, to come in the fullness of His Light.
As I read these two articles my first thought is why are they picking on Our Blessed Mother and the Catholic Church. We are not the only church this stuff is happening. Then I am brought to the Divine Cross. Good Friday was not too long ago. The Divine Cross our Savior was mocked, tormented and beaten, made fun of, spit on, for our sins. I realized that we will always be the crux of the Media and Society. We stand for all the values that God wanted us to express to this society that has lost its morals and character.
Both Women and Men are a integral part of the Catholic Church. I don't understand why people today still think women should be priests. It is in the Bible how Jesus wanted His disciples, who were men, to be Blessed with Evangelizing among nations. Our Sacred Tradition is based upon all these values.
The question says What would Mary would do? Our Blessed Mother would pray for everyone. She is a strong women who values prayer. She doesn't say much in scripture. You know through her life she was strong woman because of her prayer. She was able to watch her only Son, who was the Messiah die. We all should listen to her and pray and pray to her Son. Only through praying to Jesus, will the road ahead be light and have no burdens. Her Yes changed the world. Maybe that is why still today people are in awe of her.
God Bless!

Noelle

I thought of you today...
I thought of you today....when someone gave you “that look” because your child had behaved in a way they thought disobedient.
I thought of you today...when you realized your circle of friends had grown smaller because yet another person had misunderstood your child.
I thought of you today...when your child responded too strongly, and another child was hurt.
I thought of you today...when this child talked and talked and talked so constantly that your brain became numb.
I thought of you today...when your anger level went too high and you said something you wish now that you hadn’t.
I thought of you today when you saw someone else completely miss the delight in your child, because your child presented it in a manner that was unfamiliar to them.
I thought of you today when you apologized to your child and he wrapped his arms around you in a gracious embrace that you know conveyed total and utter forgiveness.
I thought of you today...because I know you and I are sharing some of the same journeys.

Making Music Praying Twice--Lent
This program is awesome. The songs and lyrics are so musical, with the different instruments they use also. The way they lay out the whole program, the structure, the intesity, the involvement with each student. This could be used through 5th grade. I am currently using it with my 5th grader, who really likes this program. It will be too babyish beyond that. We don't use all the songs, but the ones we use are so good. A ccd program should pick this up. As a homeschooling mom, I could see this idea for a co-op setting also. I give this an A++. Yes it is that good in my opinion.

Real Mothers
Real Mothers don’t eat quiche;
They don’t have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
Are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough
Doesn’t come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don’t want to know what
The vacuum just sucked up…….
Real Mothers sometimes ask ‘Why me?’
And get their answer when a little
Voice says, ‘Because I love you best.’
Real Mothers know that a child’s growth
Is not measured by height or years or grade…
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother…..
The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE – My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE – My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE – My Mother doesn’t know everything!
14 YEARS OF AGE – My Mother? She wouldn’t’ have a clue.
16 YEARS OF AGE – Mother? She’s so five minutes ago.
18 YEARS OF AGE – That old woman? She’s way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE – Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE – Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE – Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE – Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a Mother is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she
carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a Mother must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a Mother is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a Mother with years only grows!

I remember the day, Chloe started watching Hannah. We grew up with her. Now 3 years later, as they go into their last episode. It is just so sad, yep happy. Miley has grown up. I see my daughter, who was in her cocoon almost ready to fly off to become that Magnificent Butterfly. I will miss her too, when she does. Good Luck Miley, you have an awesome voice. Blessed Jacinta and Francisco Marto
Blessed Jacinta and Francisco Marto
(1910-1920; 1908-1919)
Between May 13 and October 13, 1917, three children, Portuguese shepherds from Aljustrel, received apparitions of Our Lady at Cova da Iria, near Fatima, a city 110 miles north of Lisbon. At that time, Europe was involved in an extremely bloody war. Portugal itself was in political turmoil, having overthrown its monarchy in 1910; the government disbanded religious organizations soon after.
At the first appearance, Mary asked the children to return to that spot on the thirteenth of each month for the next six months. She also asked them to learn to read and write and to pray the rosary to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war. They were to pray for sinners and for the conversion of Russia, which had recently overthrown Czar Nicholas II and was soon to fall under communism. Up to 90,000 people gathered for Marys final apparition on October 13, 1917.
Less than two years later, Francisco died of influenza in his family home. He was buried in the parish cemetery and then re-buried in the Fatima basilica in 1952. Jacinta died of influenza in Lisbon, offering her suffering for the conversion of sinners, peace in the world and the Holy Father. She was re-buried in the Fatima basilica in 1951. Their cousin, Lucia dos Santos, became a Carmelite nun and was still living when Jacinta and Francisco were beatified in 2000. Sister Lucia died in February 2005 at the age of 97. The shrine of Our Lady of Fatima is visited by up to 20 million people a year.
Saint Joseph of Cupertino Prayer
This powerful prayer is very effective in examinations. It has to be said before appearing in the examination. There are two variants to this prayer. Both the prayers are equally effective. You can choose any one of these:-
First Prayer
O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.
Through Christ our Lord.
St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.
Amen.
Second Prayer
O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (here mention the name of Examination) examination.
In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.
O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me
O Holy Ghost enlighten me
Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me
Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.
Lenten Prayer
From The Cukierski Family Apostolate(an awesome Apostolate)
TODAY'S FEATURED PRAYER:
Lenten Prayer for Spiritual Renewal
God, heavenly Father,
look upon me and hear my prayer
during this holy Season of Lent.
By the good works You inspire,
help me to discipline my body
and to be renewed in spirit.
Without You I can do nothing.
By Your Spirit help me to know what is right
and to be eager in doing Your will.
Teach me to find new life through penance.
Keep me from sin, and help me live
by Your commandment of love.
God of love, bring me back to You.
Send Your Spiritto make me strong
in faithand active in good works.
May my acts of penance bring me Your forgiveness,
open my heart to Your love,
and prepare me for the coming feast
of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Lord, during this Lenten Season,
nourish me with Your Word of life
and make me one
with You in love and prayer.
Fill my heart with Your love
and keep me faithful to the Gospel of Christ.
Give me the grace to rise above my human weakness.
Give me new life by Your Sacraments, especially the Mass.
Father, our source of life,
I reach out with joy to grasp Your hand;
let me walk more readily in Your ways.
Guide me in Your gentle mercy,
for left to myself I cannot do Your Will.
Father of love, source of all blessings,
help me to pass from my old life of sin
to the new life of grace.
Prepare me for the glory of Your Kingdom.
I ask this through our Lord JesusChrist, Your Son,
Who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.
Amen.

Seven Founders of the Order of Servites
Seven Founders of the Order of Servites
(13th century)
Can you imagine seven prominent men of Boston or Denver banding together, leaving their homes and professions, and going into solitude for a life directly given to God? That is what happened in the cultured and prosperous city of Florence in the middle of the thirteenth century. The city was torn with political strife as well as the heresy of the Cathari. Morals were low and religion seemed meaningless.
In 1240 seven noblemen of Florence mutually decided to withdraw from the city to a solitary place for prayer and direct service of God. Their initial difficulty was providing for their dependents, since two were still married and two were widowers.
Their aim was to lead a life of penance and prayer, but they soon found themselves disturbed by constant visitors from Florence. They next withdrew to the deserted slopes of Monte Senario.
In 1244, under the direction of St. Peter of Verona, O.P., this small group adopted a religious habit similar to the Dominican habit, choosing to live under the Rule of St. Augustine and adopting the name of the Servants of Mary. The new Order took a form more like that of the mendicant friars than that of the older monastic Orders.
Members of the community came to the United States from Austria in 1852 and settled in New York and later in Philadelphia. The two American provinces developed from the foundation made by Father Austin Morini in 1870 in Wisconsin.
Community members combined monastic life and active ministry. In the monastery, they led a life of prayer, work and silence while in the active apostolate they engaged in parochial work, teaching, preaching and other ministerial activities.

The Lightning Thief Movie
http://www.rickriordan.com/index.php/books-for-children/the-lightning-thief/
We are on Book 3:The Titan's Curse. I love these books. We are book lovers in our family. We have decided to read these books as a family and they are awesome. We went to see the movie. It was a cool movie, if you didn't read the book. It was a typical Hollywood, special effect movie. It was not what I expected. It changed the plot of the story. It was missing characters that are important in later on books. I love the author and his style of writing. This movie was a disappointment to me and my kids. First in the book they are 12 year olds. They were in high school in the movie, so that changed the movie significantly. The whole way Percy finds out he was Poseidon's son is very important to the plot and that was not even in the movie. The Pearls were given to him by the water nymphs in the book and here they had to find them. Would I go to see the second movie of the second book, not if it is filmed like this? I love the books, but the movie disappointed me. Apparently based on the book, means you can change the plot of the book too. My review for this movie, I agree with the critics--C.

The Handbook for Catholic Moms , Bibles and Books, Gifts For Mom, Seasonal Gift Ideas at The Catholic Company
If I could have any gift in the world, it would be this awesome book. For all of you that know me, I am a book reader. I am constantly have my nose in some book. I can't wait for this book to come out. This looks like an awesome book. I am biased because I know the author from Catholic Mom and she is an awesome person. I hope she sells alot of this book and has great success!
A Child's Geography: Explore the Earth
We had a fantastic journey through this book. It has discussion questions, along with postcards along the journey. It is written in narrative form and very accurate. It is a Christian Geography study. God is brought into every lesson on how amazing the Earth he created is for us and what an amazing God we have. You start with the Earth as a ball of sphere and go through the layers of the earth, the oceans, and landmasses, through the layers in the atmosphere, and end up at the conclusion with the different zones on the earth. It also has a page on each chapter for extended resources for reading and research. I whole-heartedly would recommend this book for any child. it give a wonderful view of geography. I have already bought Book 2 for next year. What an awesome journey we had through God's divine Earth!

Revelations in Email
Enjoy the journey,

Saint Agnes
Legend has it she was a beautiful girl whom many young men wanted to marry. Among those she refused, one reported her to the authorities as being a Christian. She was arrested and confined to a house of prostitution. The legend continues that a man who looked upon her lustfully lost his sight and had it restored by her prayer. She was condemned, executed and buried near Rome in a catacomb that eventually was named after her. The daughter of Constantine built a basilica in her honor.

Faith in Difficult Times
I realized many things today as I prayed. God puts crosses in our lives to bring us to the foot of his cross to say, come up here and see what I see. And I cry in what I see. I see souls being lost within our own community, our own families. Today I realized why I am going through these crosses to pray for those souls and to help mine along with it. So in that reality, I realized nothing should be hidden. The truth is all around us if we truly look for it.
So today I have embraced my son's diagnosis of SPD and ADHD, along with the food allergies that make it so difficult for him at times. He embraces it all with a smile and says it is okay Mom, God made me this way to help someone else. He is right. I realized my true talent is writing and God has steered me to write an article about the journey Luke and I are having. There is the job I keep looking for and keep telling God later I can do that. But when I finally surrendered to it, life so much easier and the words they just flow out. God is amazing in all of His Divine Creations in life. Finally, yes I see it all as a journey to God's greater plan for us. Homeschooling has made all of this so much easier for him and I to endure through it all, and God knew that we would travel this journey together. God has blessed us with that too, by all these crosses come in babysteps. He knows how much we can endure, even when we think we can't, we can.
And Yes even unemployment can be a Blessing. I was amazed to realize this today. It has been a Blessing to us as a family. We have gotten closer as a family. My husband has gotten to spend more time with the kids and I. He now understands what we go through day to day. Yes, it has been a financial burden, but there are more important things than just money. Finally surrendered this to God. The journey is not always easy but the treasure at the end of the road is worth it.
God Bless you all in the journeys you travel,
Noelle:)
